| Rexco Equipment Inc. was founded in 1964 by Rex Smith Sr. and his wife Mildred. They started with 26 counties in Eastern Iowa as their territory and their main account was Link-Belt Cranes and Excavators. Rexco is presently a multi-line construction equipment distributor operating in Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska with seven locations. | | The founder's sons presently own and operate the business. Rex Jr. is President and is based in Cedar Rapids, IA. Steve is V.P. and is in Des Moines, IA. |
| In 1986, Rexco Equipment expanded it's line of equipment into the "compact" equipment industry by taking on maufacturers such as Bobcat, Kubota, and Exmark in the Cedar Rapids location. A few years later in 1989, Rexco opened a Bobcat dealership in the Quad Cities. They continued their growth in compact equipment with a dealership in Iowa City in 2003 and at Burlington in 2008. |
